According to the CAT exam structure, the CAT syllabus for 2022 is divided into three sections: Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Verbal Ability (VARC). However, because the IIMs do not offer official syllabus, the CAT syllabus is generalised each year.
As a result, the majority of the CAT 2022 syllabus is devoted to school-taught English and mathematical ideas. The most frequent topics and questions can be determined based on an examination of the prior papers, even if there is no set syllabus.
The English-related topics covered in the VARC portion include grammar, reading comprehension, inferences, and verbal reasoning. However, DILR demands that data be interpreted using the information presented in the form of graphs, charts, and layouts. Algebra, arithmetic, geometry, current math, and other middle school mathematics topics are covered in the QA component of the CAT exam syllabus.
It is crucial to remember that the CAT exam’s current format is a two-hour computer-based test. Candidates must answer the questions within the specified time limit for each of the three sections, which is 40 minutes.
