For his part, the That 70s Show alumnus recalled feeling guilty when his career took off and Michael, who was born with cerebral palsy and had a heart transplant, continued to experience health issues.

According to Ashton’s recollection, “There was a moment in all of this where I moved to New York and was starting to get some traction with my career. Mike came out to visit and stay and he looked at me and he said, ‘Every time you feel sorry for me, you make me less.'” He said, ‘This is the main life I’ve at any point known, so quit feeling frustrated about the main thing I have.’ The result was a complete shift back to what I believe we are today, which is equality on a fundamental level. That’s all.
The Ranch alum, who became emotional during the siblings’ conversation with Dr. David Agnus, had previously spoken out in 2003 about Michael’s diagnosis of cerebral palsy.
I was extremely irate. Very enraged. Michael told Today in May 2021, “I remember talking to him about it.” I didn’t want to represent CP in any way. I never mentioned it.

The star of Just Married, who shared his story on a Running Wild With Bear Grylls episode: The Challenge explained that he had been fighting vasculitis for two years, which “knocked out my vision, hearing, and equilibrium.” Since then, he has fully recovered.
