Ellie’s Mom

The Director of The Last of Us reveals that the team was toying with the idea of adding content to the game that would have involved Ellie’s Mom. The director of The Last of Us reveals this.

The Last of Us’s creative director, Neil Druckmann, has said that the team was thinking about doing some DLC for the 2013 game that would have related to Ellie’s mom. Unfortunately, this never happened. Although it is still too early to determine whether the most recent HBO show is the best video game adaptation, TLoU is certainly making waves, as evidenced by its 9.4 rating on IMDB.

The original The Last of Us and its 2020 sequel have been shining examples of excellent gaming storytelling, featuring one of the greatest character developments in recent video games and a story that was both gripping and mature. Given how well-liked the show is, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a TV adaptation was suggested and made. While many others before it didn’t do so well, like the Resident Evil show from last year, the team behind TLoU has managed to successfully adapt the beloved post-apocalyptic title for the small screen.

In a recent interview with Variety, Druckmann discussed the recent adaptation, and one interesting tidbit of information did surface about the differences between directing the HBO TV show and the games.

The director mentioned the introduction of Ellie’s Mom late in the season when asked what he was most excited about about the show.

Druckmann has also recently talked about The Last of Us’s clickers, specifically how Naughty Dog wanted to set them apart from other zombie apocalypse games released at the time. If you’ve played the games in the series, you know how difficult it is to avoid these clicking monsters when they’re close by. This makes them one of the most difficult enemies.
