For her controversial statement regarding female leads, Jennifer Lawrence has come under fire.
In a recent interview with Variety, the 32-year-old said that while auditioning for Hunger Games, she had to deal with stereotypes about women not playing action heroes. “When I was working on The Hunger Games, nobody had ever put a woman in the lead role of an action movie because they thought it wouldn’t work. “Because we were told that boys and girls can both identify with a male lead, but boys can’t identify with a female lead,” the author explains.
